The 2019 Northwest Louisiana Pregnancy Care Center Banquet will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 beginning at 6 p.m. There will be an auction held during the meal, which will be served at 6:30 p.m. The program will start between 7 and 7:15 p.m. The guest speaker this year is Michelle Durand, Founder and Executive Director of Tears to Treasures.
Michelle Durand is a motivational speaker and life coach living in the hill country of Austin, TX. She is on a mission and has dedicated her work to help prevent abortions and promote healing from past abortions. Michelle is the Founder of Tears to Treasures which helps women and men find healing and closure from past abortion experiences. She encourages them to allow the tears to flow and transform into beautiful treasures of self-compassion, self-forgiveness and self-love.
Michelle started Tears to Treasures in 2001 following her personal healing journey from an abortion that she hid, covered up, lied about and tried to ignore for over 15 years. She then began speaking publicly, volunteered at pregnancy resource centers, lead and facilitated healing group programs. She also helped start a Pregnancy Resource Center in Jakarta Indonesia while she lived there in 2005. She realizes that when she shares her “secret” then others feel safe to share theirs. This is how the healing begins.
Michelle shares her story on radio, podcasts, television. She was even featured on The 700 Club. She speaks at schools, youth groups, banquets, fundraiser, churches and events. She was a speaker at the FIRST annual Walk for Life held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the state capitol and the same city where her abortion was performed.
